Batch 05: Next year, No point going to Andharban after rains have stopped, it gets too humid and frustrating.

We have decided not to host this event any further this year. Being at right place at right time is important to us.

13 kilometer jungle stretch located in the midst of Tamhini ghat with dense vegetation and beautiful flora. Andharban, which literally translates to Dark Forest, lives up to its name. The forest trail unwinds through several streams, waterfalls and giant trees. The trail offers some of the most spectacular views of Kundalika valley and surrounding mountain ranges within Tamhini ghat.

The major attraction of the forest is sightings of butterflies. The forest is surrounded by colourful butterflies, specially the Blue Mormons which is also known as the State butterfly of Maharashtra.

ITINERARY

Day 01: Saturday

Meeting point: Borivali - Sanjay Gandhi National Park Gate 10:00 PM

Travel by private bus

Pick up points: (Bus Live location will be shared on whatsapp group)

  • Departure from Borivli- SGNP 10.15pm
  • Pickup from Andheri -WEH metro signal
  • Pickup from Hotel Highway Gomantak, Bandra
  • Pickup from Dadar - Pritam Hotel
  • Pickup from Sion
  • Pickup from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Statue , Chembur
  • Pickup from Sec 17, Vashi (Below the flyover)
  • Pickup from Hotel 3 Star, Kharghar
  • Overnight journey to the base village (Pimpri)

(We will be creating whatsapp group couple of hours prior to the event for coordination)


Day 02: Sunday

05:00 am: Reach base village and freshen up.

06:00 am: Breakfast and tea, Introduction.

07:30 am: Start the trail.

01:00 pm: Halt for lunch.

03:00 pm: Reach end point of the trail, Bhira Dam.

Freshen up and explore Bhira Dam.

04:30 pm: Proceed towards Mumbai.

Evening refreshments enroute

Reach Mumbai around 09:30 PM depending on traffic

Caution:

  • Wear full clothes and do not use deodorant or perfume.
  • Do not carry - Jholas / sling bag / Trolley bag (This is a trek, not picnic)
  • Avoid wearing jewellery.
  • Consumption of alcohol or any narcotic substance is strictly prohibited.
  • It may rain, please pack your belongings accordingly. Cover your bags with rain cover.

Points to Note and FAQ's

Q: I have booked/paid for the event, is my booking confirmed ?

Ans. No ! , your booking can become invalid if you do not submit the "Most Important Details" required for emergency situations. For any Trek/Adventure event the organizers need to have your details atleast 24 hours prior to the event. We do not allow anyone to campsite until we have complete and authentic details of the person. This info is crucial in case of emergency, and is a mandatory KYC parameter. The link for the "personal details form" will be sent along the ticket confirmation email. Submitting incomplete/incorrect/fake details in the form will make your booking invalid and no refund will be provided in such case.

Q. We are coming by our own vehicle for the event, where should we reach ?

Ans. We would not suggest you to bring own vehicle because this event is from point A to point B. Your are required to have a driver who can pick you up from point B location which is 40 km away. The Meeting point at Andharban will be shared in whatsapp group 8 hours prior to trek.

Q. How do we get in touch after reaching meeting point ?

Ans.We will be creating a whatsapp group for coordination where you will be provided all the necessary information regarding contact person, exact point to meet etc..

Q. How many people will be in our group for this trek ?

Ans. Depends on number of people booking the event. Generally the batch size is approximately 25 participants.

Q. Is it safe for solo participants?

Ans. Yes, mostly 30% of participants come up solo and blend in.

Q. Is it safe for girls?

Ans. Mischief Treks has a track record of making our trekking and camping events extremely safe for girls. Normally 60 – 75 % of our participants are females.

Q. Why is submitting emergency contact details and KYC information mandatory?

Ans. Its a standard protocol and also a guideline by Govt of India. We are accountable for every "Human-Body" present at our campsite or trek is our responsibility and in case of any unfortunate event we will be asked by authorities to provide all relevant information about you. In order to comply with the authorities we have to take authentic information from you. Fake/Incomplete information or non-submission of the details will make your ticket (paid amount) invalid and no refund will be provided in such case. You will not be allowed to participate in the event.

Q. How should I book the event ?

Ans. All you have to do is press the book now button on this page and follow the instructions.

Q. What is the last date of booking ?

Ans. Bookings close once tickets are sold out. Ideally you need to book atleast 2-3 days in advance.

Q. Can we pay in cash or installment or on spot ?

Ans. Sorry we do not accept cash payments. For installment scheme you will have to pay one-time processing fee of Rs.500 per person. On spot payment not possible because the booking process closed prior to the event date and we have limited tickets available.

Q. Will we be returning at exact time mentioned in the itinerary ?

Ans. The Itinerary is for reference purpose only, it is based on average time taken during our previous events. Actual timeline for a particular date depends on Weather conditions, Traffic Conditions, Participants speed and endurance.

Cancellation Policy

90% will be refunded if cancelled 15 days in advance.

75% will be refunded if cancelled 10 days in advance.

50% will be refunded if cancelled 05 days in advance.

25% will be refunded if cancelled 03 days in advance.

0% refund if cancelled within 72 hours of the event date and time

Disclaimer : The participants who wish to reach the event starting point in their own vehicle have to reach the meeting point at given time, post that organisers may go out of network range and wont be able to assist. In such situation the organiser shall not be liable for any inconvenience what-so-ever and the participants will be considered as dropouts against which no refund will be made. The organiser reserves the right to make necessary change in itinerary at any time before or during the event based on situation at hand. Trek leaders decision will be final and binding, no arguments will be entertained. During the event if any participant or group does not follow safety instructions and indulges in acts that lead to physical harm, or gets lost in the forest / mountain the organisers will not be held liable for it. Tickets can be cancelled 7 days prior to the event and 90% amount will be refunded. No refund will be made in case a person misses the train/bus mentioned in the itinerary. All participants are deemed to be physically fit for the event. In case a participant decides to dropout during the event he/she has to bear the extra cost of arranging his/her return. This cost will be charged at-actual-basis. If the event gets cancelled due to natural calamities, rains, landslide, snowfall, avalanche only 50% refund will be made. Delays due to traffic conditions, weather, participants endurance, vehicle breakdown etc. are not in our hands and participants need to bare with the situation as a team. Stay options mentioned in the itinerary are subject to natural conditions i.e tents cant be pitched if rains and/or rain storm is being predicted. In such cases an attempt will me made to provide shelter for the night. Food during the trekking and camping events is sourced locally from villages and we put in our best efforts to provide the best, participants should acknowledge the fact that remote village people are not trained for catering services and our expectations should be accommodating. MischiefTreks has a reputation of providing memorable experience for trekkers and adventure lovers our events are not deigned for tourists or fussy people. Trekking and camping belong to Adventure Sports industry where the participants are part of a "team", there are no waiters, caterers, guests/clients. We all will be part of team and your participation as a team member is appreciated. Having the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork is basic requirement for signing up our events. Pictures and videos captured by our staff/members during the event are property of mischief treks and we reserve rights to publish the images as per our discretion.
