Transport/Travel Options for Bhandardara Riverside Camping:-

  • Option A (with shared jeep pickup/drop) = Pickup and drop by local shared jeep from Kasara station would cost you 2000/- including camping cost.

  • Option B (with jeep pickup/drop) = Pickup and drop by local private jeep from kasara station would cost you 5000/- for the vehicle. This does not include camping cost. The passenger carrying capacity of this Jeep is 8 persons.

  • Option C (with cab pickup/drop) = We can help you to get a cab from Mumbai. The cab guy charges approx 8500/- per cab, for 2 days 1 night. Pickup and drop will be arranged from your residence. The passenger carrying capacity of the cab is 4 persons. This does not include camping charges.

Event Schedule

Those coming by own vehicle need to reach at the meeting point Campsite "before" 7.10pm

  • Reach the base village and have dinner.

  • We will have a brief introduction and safety instruction session

  • Start trekking and experience the mating dance of fireflies while we trek up to our camping location.

  • Once we reach our camping location you get to click lots of pictures, then rest in tents until dawn

  • Start descending around 8.00 am and reach base village around 9am

  • Have breakfast and commence journey back to Mumbai around 11am

Exclusions

Things to carry:

  • Identity proof.

  • Torch with extra batteries (compulsory)

  • Rain protection. Pack your back keeping rain in mind.

  • Face Mask or Face Shield, and sanitiser

  • Good and reliable trekking shoes and extra pair of floaters.

  • Jacket or hoodie, its going the be extremely cold.

  • Water (min 2 Ltrs) Compulsory.

  • Keep your phone fully charged.

  • Some ready to eat food like biscuits, plum cake etc to keep your tummy happy.

  • Turkish towel or thick bedsheet to keep you comfortable in tent.

  • Medicines (if you need any), Glucon D / Electrol / Enerzyl Powder (We will have a basic first aid kit with us).

  • Haversack to put all your things. Your hands need to be free while trekking.

Caution:

  • Wear full clothes and do not use deodorant or perfume.

  • Do not carry - Jholas / sling bag / Trolley bag (This is a trek, not picnic or tour )

  • Avoid wearing jewelry.

  • Its going to be very cold out there on top, so dress properly and carry clothes accordingly.

  • This is a trek and 'real camping' event, the tents will not be luxurious nor will it contain pillows or beddings.

  • Please wear reliable shoes. Do not wear sandal, floater, chappal or ballerinas.

  • Consumption of alcohol or any narcotic substance is strictly prohibited.

  • If you do not reach meeting point or pickup point on time you will be considered drop-out and no refund will be provided in such case.

  • Cancellations done 72 hours prior to event date and time will not be eligible for any refund.

Important Note :
The main focus of the event is "Fireflies" and this is not a comfort camping event. Tents is just a medium to provide shelter for the night.
This is Monsoon season. If weather goes bad, accommodation will be provided in homestay/ dormitory/temp shelter etc instead of tents, or may be the tents will be setup at shelter location. Please do not book this event if your focus is on luxury/comfort camping only. This is specifically a fireflies focused event and due to weather conditions all other things need to be handled as per best suited option basis.
Event schedule, itinerary, group composition and all operational aspects are subject to change without prior notice. In these uncertain times we will try to do our best to get things rolling but unavoidable circumstances may impact the operations.

Covid-19 Safety

  • Every member of the group (participants/leaders/ clients & staff) has to wear protective mask/face shield while talking to each other.

  • The bus (if opted as transport) will be completely sanitised before picking up participants.

  • Every participant is instructed to keep safe distance from other participants right from start till the end of the event.

  • Every participant has to carry a sanitiser sprey bottle while coming for the event and use it regularly.

  • Do not share food/snacks you bring along. (we will miss this fun- Dabba Party)

  • Carry additional unused mask as backup.

  • It should be ascertained from the participants that they are not residing / have not traveled in a containment zone and have not come in contact with any person who was tested positive in last 14 days.

  • Ascertain whether any participant has any symptoms of Influenza like illness (ILI) like fever, dry cough, weakness, severe body ache etc. at the time of beginning of activity. If it is so then he/she should be asked not to participate activity and be evacuated on medical grounds and should be asked to report to local health authority with his own expenses.

  • Strictly avoid eating gutkha, pan masala, cigarette or sniffing which induces spitting, coughing or sneezing.

  • Avoid touching external surfaces and touching your face when in outdoors.

  • If the location of your adventure activity is crowded then be prepared to leave or wait for the crowd to disperse/for your turn.

  • It is mandatory that a participant informs the organizers if he tests positive for Covid within 14 days of returning from adventure activity. It will help the organizers to inform and alert all other persons in the group, so that they can follow the medical/government norms in this regard. Here it is absolutely essential that the participant observes transparency and informs the organizers/group leaders about his Covid test results.

Points to Note and FAQ's

Q: I have booked/paid for the event, is my booking confirmed ?
Ans.
No ! , your booking can become invalid if you do not submit the "Most Important Details" required for emergency situations. For any Trek/Adventure event the organizers need to have your details atleast 24 hours prior to the event. We do not allow anyone to our event until we have complete and authentic details of the person. This info is crucial in case of emergency, and is a mandatory KYC parameter. The link for the "personal details form" will be sent along the ticket confirmation email. Submitting incomplete/incorrect/fake details in the form will make your booking invalid and no refund will be provided in such case.

Q. We are coming by our own vehicle for the event, where should we reach ?
Ans.
You need to reach Virar Phata at scheduled meeting time. This is where we will be meeting , from here you can follow our vehicles. You will be given exact coordinated after you finish booking formalities. We will be creating a whatsapp group for coordination, you will be provided all relevant details in the group. Please do not be late, we cannot keep other participants waiting. If you are not able to reach on time you will be considered as Drop-Out and no refund will be provided in such case.

Q. How many people will share the tent OR can we have separate tent for ourselves ?
Ans.
We have tents of different size . Tent size is as per standard international norms for tents. The 4 person tent has dimension: 200cm x 180cm x 135cm. The 6 person tent has dimensions 220cm x 250cm x 150cm. For this Fireflies events the tents are being used for shelter. This is not camping event and the tents are basic tents only. Participants need to share the tents for the night.

Q. Is it safe for solo participants?
Ans.
Yes its safe and comfortable. Mostly 40% of the participants come solo and blend in with the trek leaders and the rest of the group.

Q. Is it safe for girls?
Ans.
Mischief Treks has a track record of making our trekking and camping events extremely safe for girls. Normally 60 – 75 % of our participants are females.

Q. How long is the trek ?
Ans.
Normally it takes two and half hours to ascend and one and half hours to descend.

Q. Whats included in meals?
Ans.
Generally the breakfast consists of Poha and tea. The lunch is veg thali. Its local village home cooked food and if you are cranky about food and expect food from restaurant , cafe of hotels, we request you to bring your own food as this is a trekking event and food is not the focus here.

Q. Is Jain food available ?
Ans.
Preparing separate food may not be possible at certain situations. We can try to provide Jain food but cannot assure it.

Q. Is washroom available ?
Ans.
Before the trek starts there is a washroom at base. During the trek on the mountains there are no washrooms available.

Q. Is there a place to change clothes ?
Ans.
although clothes can be changed in washrooms at base, but during all our previous batches people preferred to change clothes in bus by putting up blinds on windows of the bus.

Q. Can we pay in cash or on spot or installment ?
Ans
. Sorry we do not accept cash/spot payments. Advance booking is compulsory.

Q. What is the last date of booking ?
Ans
. Bookings close once tickets are sold out. Ideally you need to book atleast 3-4 days in advance.

Q. How should I book the event ?
Ans.
All you have to do is press the Book Tickets button on this page and follow the instructions.

Q. How do we get in touch after reaching meeting point ?
Ans.
We will be creating a whatsapp group for coordination where you will be provided all the necessary information regarding contact person, exact point to meet etc..

Q. Will we be returning at exact time mentioned in the itinerary ?
Ans.
The Itinerary is for reference purpose only, it is based on average time taken during our previous events. Actual timeline for a particular date depends on Weather conditions, Traffic Conditions, Participants speed and endurance.

Q. Why is submitting emergency contact details and KYC information mandatory?
Ans.
Its a standard protocol and also a guideline by Govt of India. We are accountable for every "Human-Body" present at our campsite or trek is our responsibility and in case of any unfortunate event we will be asked by authorities to provide all relevant information about you. In order to comply with the authorities we have to take authentic information from you. Fake/Incomplete information or non-submission of the details will make your ticket (paid amount) invalid and no refund will be provided in such case. You will not be allowed to participate in the event.

Cancellation Policy


If the participant does not reach the meeting point / pickup point on time, he/she will be considered as dropout and no refund will be provided in such case.

  • In case the entire event gets cancelled by the organiser due to unavoidable circumstances, 100% amount will be refunded to all participants immediately.

In case of cancellation done in advance following parameters apply.
100% will be refunded if cancelled 30 days in advance.
75% will be refunded if cancelled 15 days in advance.
50% will be refunded if cancelled 10 days in advance.
25% will be refunded if cancelled 05 days in advance.
0% refund if cancelled within 72 hours of the event date and time

Disclaimer : The participants who wish to reach the event starting point in their own vehicle have to reach the meeting point at given time, post that organisers may go out of network range and wont be able to assist. In such situation the organiser shall not be liable for any inconvenience what-so-ever and the participants will be considered as dropouts against which no refund will be made. The organiser reserves the right to make necessary change in itinerary at any time before or during the event based on situation at hand. Trek leaders decision will be final and binding, no arguments will be entertained. During the event if any participant or group does not follow safety instructions and indulges in acts that lead to physical harm, or gets lost in the forest / mountain the organisers will not be held liable for it. No refund will be made in case a person misses the train/bus mentioned in the itinerary. All participants are deemed to be physically fit for the event. In case a participant decides to dropout during the event he/she has to bear the extra cost of arranging his/her return. This cost will be charged at-actual-basis. If the event gets cancelled due to natural calamities, rains, landslide, snowfall, avalanche only 50% refund will be made. Stay options mentioned in the itinerary are subject to natural conditions i.e tents cant be pitched if rains and/or rain storm is being predicted. In such cases an attempt will me made to provide shelter for the night. Food during the trekking and camping events is sourced locally from villages and we put in our best efforts to provide the best, participants should acknowledge the fact that remote village people are not trained for catering services and our expectations should be accommodating. MischiefTreks has a reputation of providing memorable experience for trekkers and adventure lovers our events are not deigned for tourists or fussy people. Trekking and camping belong to Adventure Sports industry where the participants are part of a "team", there are no waiters, caterers, guests/clients.
