Fireflies :

Fireflies belong to the family of beetles, and not flies as they are commonly mistaken for. These nocturnal winged beetles use bioluminescence, a chemical reaction when oxygen combines with luciferin, which is present in the lower abdomen of the insect to produce light. All fireflies glow as larvae. Bioluminescence serves a different function in the larvae than in adults. It appears to be a warning signal to predators, for, the larvae contains chemicals that are either distasteful or toxic.

The adult male beetles use light to primarily attract their mates. The interested female flashes back from her lower perch and the male flits overhead. What a romantic way of courting! The first few showers of monsoon is the best time to witness the fireflies since this is the time best fit for fireflies to start darting around. Fireflies cannot tolerate heavy raindrops and die. So, make sure you get to witness these lightning bugs with us.

About The Location :

The location deep interiors of forest region near a lake. Unlike Rajmachi, Bhandardhara etc .. this location is not known masses. Our team has put in lot of time and effort to hunt for this location where you can have serenity of nature and with a calm surrounding watch thousands of fireflies dancing around. We have organised several camping events in this location. Its also one of our most Favorite locations for camping. The travel time is same as Bhandardhara and the meeting point for this campsite is "Kasara Station" same as Bhandardhara.

Catch the 11.46 am CST-Kasara local train from your nearest location Reach kasara by 01.58pm.


You can come by your own vehicle till “Baba da Dhaba, Latifvadi” near Kasara meet us at 2.30 pm and follow our vehicles.

02:00 PM: Meet us at the ticket Window at Kasara station from there we will take the jeeps and head to Baba Da Dhaba where participants can have lunch/snacks on A-La-Cart basis. (self paid)

02:50 PM: Head out from Baba Da Dhaba and proceed towards the campsite.

04:30 PM: Reach the campsite and freshen up.

05:00 PM: Have fun with bonus activities

05:30 PM: Snacks will be served. Continue with activities or just sit and relax at the campsite.

07:30 PM: Once the activities are all done, tents will be allotted

08:00 PM: Antakshari, Dumb Charades

Approximately between 9-10pm Dinner will be served and post dinner we will be going for sighting thousands of fireflies.

Around 11.30 pm, it’s time for winding up the day. You may choose to spend time around fireflies as long as you want or relax in your tents. Morning you will be provided Tea and Breakfast around 8am.

By 8.30-9am its time to head back to Kasara

Note: We will be creating whatsapp group one day prior to the event for coordination

Points to note:

Tents Stay : Styrofoam mattress and blanket will be provided in the tents to keep yourself comfortable. Tents will be allocated on 2/3/4 sharing basis depending on tent size. (In case of rains, an attempt will be made to provide shelter in the forest/mountain region. Tents cannot be pitched in rains or if its windy )

The main focus of the event is Fireflies and this is not a Camping focused event. Tents/dormitory stay are just a medium to provide shelter for the night.

If weather goes bad, accommodation will be provided in homestay/ dormitory instead of tents or the tents will be setup at shelter location. Please do not book this event if your focus is on camping only. This is specifically a fireflies foccused event and due to weather conditions all other things cannot be assured.

Washroom : Washroom is available at a walking distance of 3 min.

Q1. Does the campsite have Washroom Facility?

Ans. We have washroom available at 3 min walking distance. It is a common washroom for all participants of the camping event.

Q2. Is it safe for solo participants?

Ans. Yes, mostly 30% of participants come up solo and blend in.

Q3. Is it safe for girls?

Ans. Mischief Treks has a track record of making our trekking and camping events extremely safe for girls. Normally 60 – 65 % of our participants are females.

Q4. What all things are provided in the tent?

Ans. The tent contains a Styrofoam mat which is similar to a yoga mat, and a blanket for each person. We suggest you to bring (optional) a bedsheet or blanket to add on to the comfort levels.

Q5 How many people will share the tent OR can we have separate tent for ourselves ?

Ans. We have tents of 4 different size . 2/3/4/8 person capacity tents are available, you can chose from any of these as per number of persons coming along with you. Tent size is as per standard international norms for tents. The 2 person tent is dimension: 200 x 150 x 110 cm. The 3 person tent has dimensions 200 x 200 x 130 cm. The 4 person tent has dimensions 220 x 250 x 150cm. After booking the event you need to email/message us your preference of tent size atleast 3 days prior to the event date. Allotment of tent size depends on availability of tents.

Q6. Can we pay in cash or installment ?

Ans. Sorry we do not accept cash payments. For installment scheme you will have to pay one-time processing fee of Rs.500 per person.

Q7. What is the last date of booking ?

Ans. Bookings close once tickets are sold out. Ideally you need to book atleast 2-3 days in advance.

Q8. I have booked/paid for the event, is my booking confirmed ?

Ans. No ! , your booking can become invalid if you do not submit the "Most Important Details" required for emergency situations. For any Trek/Adventure event the organizers need to have your details atleast 24 hours prior to the event. We do not allow anyone to campsite until we have complete and authentic details of the person. This info is crucial in case of emergency, and is a mandatory KYC parameter. The link for the "personal details form" will be sent along the ticket confirmation email. Submitting incomplete/incorrect/fake details in the form will make your booking invalid and no refund will be provided in such case.

Q9. We are coming by our own vehicle for camping event where should we reach and is parking available ?

Ans. You need to reach "Baba Da Dhaba" at scheduled meeting time, the "Dhaba" is at 10 min driving distance from kasara station. This is where we will halt for lunch, from here we you can follow our vehicles. After this point cellphone network coverage is bad and our team wont be contactable. You will be given exact coordinated after you finish booking formalities. Open Parking space is available near campsite.

Q10. How many people will be at the camping event ?

Ans. Depends on number of people booking the event. Generally the batch size is approximately 30-40 Mischief Treks participants. The campsite will contain participants from couple of other organizers too.

Q11. Rains have started, will we be able to see fireflies ?

Ans. If its not raining exactly while we go for spotting fireflies i.e. 9pm to 12am the chances of spotting fireflies is good, This is a nature based event and no one can predict accurately. Although out of past experience we should be able to spot thousands of fireflies.

Q13. How do we get in touch after reaching meeting point ?

Ans. we will be creating a whatsapp group for coordination where you will be provided all the necessary information regarding contact person, exact point to meet etc..

Q14. What is provided in meals ?

Ans. Dinner will consist of veg and nonveg options. rice, chapati, daal, seasonal veg, salad, Chicken curry. The food is cooked by tribals. Please do not book this event if you are looking for restaurant or hotel like food. This is a hard core tribal area.

Q15. How far is the campsite from Kasara station OR Mumbai?

Ans. From Kasara station is approximately 1hour 30 min, and from Mumbai it is approximately 4 hours 30 min by road.

Q16. Is there network, charging point, electricity at campsite?

Ans. The campsite is a lakeside location far away from civilization, you barely get 2g network intermittently. There is no electricity in the region. Its a Tribal area.

Q16. Why is submitting emergency contact details and KYC information mandatory?

Ans. Its a standard protocol and also a guideline by Govt of India. We are accountable for every "Human-Body" present at our campsite or trek is our responsibility and in case of any unfortunate event we will be asked by authorities to provide all relevant information about you. In order to comply with the authorities we have to take authentic information from you. Fake/Incomplete information or non-submission of the details will make your ticket (paid amount) invalid and no refund will be provided in such case. You will not be allowed to participate in the event.

Cancellation Policy

90% will be refunded if cancelled 60 days in advance.

75% will be refunded if cancelled 50 days in advance.

50% will be refunded if cancelled 40 days in advance.

25% will be refunded if cancelled 30 days in advance.

0% refund if cancelled 0-to-29 days from date of trek.

Tickets can be transferred to any of your friend's name if one of them drops out. The transfer is possible only if the transfer request is sent to us 24 hours prior to the event.
