Sindhudurg fort, Maharashtra: 

Sindhudurg fortress lies on the shore of Malvan town of Sindhudurg district in the Konkan region of Maharashtra. The fort lies on a rocky island just off the coast of Malvan which is accessible by a boat from the mainland. The fort gets its name from its location, Sindhudurg means "Fort on the sea". Sindhudurg is spread over 48 acres with the fortified walls, 29 ft. high and 12 ft. thick, stretch for two miles. One can enter the fort through the Dilli Darwaja – the main gate, Because of its architectural design, the gate is visible only from close quarters and seems as if part of the walls. Shrines of Hanuman, Jarimari, and Goddess Bhavani can be seen on the fort. The fort is most famous for the temple dedicated to Shivaji. This fort has 3 water reservoirs that do not get dry even during the summertime when the rest of the wells in the nearby villages dries up.

Devbagh Beach in Sindhudurg district of the Maharashtra: 

Devbagh Beach is located in the Sindhudurg district of the Maharashtra state, and it is situated 13 km away from the main city Malvan. Devbagh is counted as one of the beautiful beaches across India located near Tarkarli beach. Devbagh Beach even known by the name the Golden Sand Beach.

Kolamb Beach:

Kolamb Beach is one of the most secluded beaches in Malvan. Boasting of picturesque beauty and mesmerizing surroundings, the beach has a creek at one end .

Lord Rameshwar (Lord Shiva) is a resident deity of Malvan.Rameshwar temple built before 1000 years ago.Now days, renovation of Lord Rameshwar temple is carried over by people of Malvan.

Chivla Beach:

This is a beautiful stretch of clean sand and clear waters bordering Malvan town from North West. It is a ‘C’ shaped small beach, calm & serene. In the evening laze around the beach and watch the sun go down is incredible experience.

Wageshwar Temple:

This beautiful Wagheshwar Temple is located at Tondavali village of Malvan taluka in Sindhidurg district. Tondavali is 24km. away from Malvan. The Wagheshwar Temple was erected in 1995 and is dedicated to the famous local deity - The Tiger and the Lord Shiva. It is a cave built out of a big rock and has a Shivalingam. There is a dense forest surrounding this temple at the foot of the hill and around the village. The villagers have seen that the tiger and leopards come in peace in the inner house of the Wagheshwar temple. Earlier, the tigers used to come regularly in the temple. It was as if he had the right place. This place was known as ‘Shri Dev Wagheshwar’, who came to the temple to roam the tiger.

Vijaydurg Fort:

Vijaydurg Fort is an ancient fort situated on a hill near the mouth of the Vaghotan River in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra. It is one of the largest forts on the Konkan coast of Maharashtra. The fort is also known as the 'Gibraltar of the East' since it was so impregnable, surrounded by the Arabian Sea from three sides. In recent years a submerged wall 100metres east of the fort has been discovered. The under-sea wall is 3 metres high, 7 metres wide and 122 metres long. How and why this sea-wall was built is not clear. On the bank of the Vaghotan River, about 3kms from the fort, there was a wet dock where the Marathas used to build and repair their ships.

Kunkeshwar Temple:

Kunkeshwar Temple, an ancient Shiva Temple is located in Kunkeshwar village, 14 Kms from Devgad town. A pristine beach with a very long stretch of seashore and white sand adds to the beauty of temple surroundings. Kunkeshwar Temple is an ancient Shiva Temple (built in 1100 AD) at Kunkeshwar having South Indian style of temple architecture. The temple is set right on the beach offering excellent sea views. There are caves near the temple having male and female warriors carved in black rock.

Padmagad Fort:

Padmagad fort is located between Sindhudurg fort and the coast of Malvan.The small entrance door of Padmadurg facing the entrance of Sindhudurg fort is still in good condition but the bastions and fortification wall are in a bad condition. There is a dried up well and a temple of the local deity of the fishermen community Lord Vetaleshwar on the fort and its flags are mounted on the bastion opposite to it. The rocks adjoining the fort have been cut in a specific manner to dock ships and it can viewed from the fortified wall.
