Irshalgad's literal meaning is Pinnacle Fort (Irshal means Pinnacle and Gad means Fort) The most important characteristic of the trek is the “Nedhe” which is a natural rock cavity formed because of wind erosion and is the pinnacle of the fort. The pinnacle can be approached from three different trails of varying difficulty levels, the top of the pinnacle needs to be climbed with the aid of proper rock climbing equipment, under proper guidance. Ans. You need to meet us at the Kalamboli meeting point and follow our vehicles to trek location. We will be providing the exact map location of the meeting point on Whatsapp group which will be created for coordination. Beyond this point we may go out of network and communication will be tough, so please make sure you are not Late.

Ans. Mischief Treks as a team conducts treks only. All the support functions like transport, food etc are sourced from various other vendors to help the participants have it streamlined. Equipment failure can happen any time with any piece of machinery and we can try to get a replacement/repair from the vendor. This may consume time and the trek leader may decide to continue the trek as deemed fit to get the event completed. We as well as the participants have to bare with it. There are no refunds possible in such case. The Trek leader's decision to terminate the trek or continue the trek with available resources will be final and binding.

Cancellation, Rescheduling & Refund Policy.

  • 90% will be refunded if canceled 15 days (360+ hrs) in advance.

  • 75% will be refunded if canceled 10 days (240+ hrs) in advance.

  • 50% will be refunded if canceled 05 days (120+ hrs) in advance.

  • 0% refund if canceled in less than 05 days (120 hours) of the event date and time.

  • 0% refund if the participant drops out, misses bus pickup, does not reach the meeting point on the scheduled date and time.

If the event itself gets canceled, you will be given the option to switch to any other event or any other date, Or you can opt for 100% refund. If you need to cancel your current booking and/or reschedule your booking to any other date, it can be done free of cost if the rescheduling request is sent 120 hours prior to the trek. From 0hrs - 120 hours prior to trek date and time, free rescheduling is not permitted. It will be counted as cancellation done in less than 120hours of event date and time. It's a humble request, please do not give medical reasons, crib, argue or try to blackmail us if you drop out or cancel/reschedule the trek in the last 5 days. The basis of the cancelation policy is to protect the participant and also the organizers from undue financial losses arising out of unforeseen situations. If the event gets canceled due to the medical/personal emergency of the organising team member, the participants will not have to suffer financial loss. The History of Irshalgad fort.

Irshalgad hardly comes anywhere in history since it's a Pinnacle and not a Fort. It can be easily seen because of it’s distinct shape from the Mumbai Pune Highway. In May 1666, it may have come under Maratha empire when Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was expanding his empire and had conquered the region of Kalyan and Bhiwandi, up to Rari. Netaji Palkar , who was a close associate of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born in the village of Chowk at the foot hills of Irshalgad. Records say that that the water tanks on the fort it may have been used as a watchtower to look after the area between Manikgad and Prabalgad.

Irshalgad is a Pinnacle since no Fortification is done. The most important part of the Irshalgad trek is "Nedhe", Nedhe is the Marathi means Natural Hole in the Mountain. 1. Karnala Fort:

Karnala Fort is a hill fort in Raigad district, Maharashtra, India. Currently it is under the Karnala Bird Sanctuary. Karnala fort actually consists of two forts one at a higher level and other lower. At the centre of the higher level is a 125 feet high basalt pillar. It is also called Pandu's tower. This structure was used as a watchtower when the fort was occupied however now it is in a ruined condition. There is a temple dedicated to goddess Bhavani located at the bottom of the fort. Today, the ruins of the fort are a popular destination for hiking and tourism.

2. Charlotte Lake:

Charlotte Lake also known as the Sharlott lake. Apart from being the main source of water for the people of Matheran, the lake is an ideal place to spend some peaceful time, away from the hustle-bustle of the city life. Set amidst a densely populated forest, birdwatching is a popular activity here.

The left bank of the lake has the ancient Pisarnath Temple and on the right lie two picturesque picnic spots - Echo Point and Louisa Point.

One Tree Hill Point is famous in Matheran as it has one tree growing only on top of the hill. The trail to One tree hill from Ambewadi is also called the Shivaji ladder route. Midway through the trail near the end of the thick forest, you come across a mass of boulders and rocks into which the trail disappears. This is known as Shivaji Steps or the Shivaji Ladder. According to local legend, Shivaji rode up this route on horseback

Peb Fort / Vikatgad Fort is a fort located 19km from Karjat, in Raigad district, of Maharashtra. Vikatgad is a favourite destination for one-day trekkers. The trek path to Vikatgad is along deep ravines and cliffs. There are water cistern and ruins of the buildings on the fort. The top of the fort is very narrow and a recently built temple with Lord Datta's paduka idol at the center is constructed. There is a lone residential hut or Datta temple on the southern side of the fort. There is an idol of Hanuman on the fort. It takes about an hour to visit all places on the fort.

Louisa Point is almost 1.5 km away from the marketplace and will take around 20 minutes to reach here on foot. If it's a clear sunny day, this place will offer you breathtaking views that will compel you to settle down here for a moment. This is a unique point in Matheran as it offers two different picturesque views. From one point, you can see the sky touching the mountains and a civilisation located far in a valley. If you visit during monsoon, you'll also be captivated by waterfalls. Another view is of Lake Charlotte that looks like a diamond necklace when seen from here. This fort is build on the plane area of this hilltop know as Sone Machi. It has a high raised monolith stone on this fort place know as the Pir Machi. It is the highest peak here. This fort is totally built from the rocks locally found here. It is also an outstanding place for photography as well as to have trekking experiences.

10. Kalavantin Fort:

Kalavantin Durg is located in the Western Ghats, near the Prabalgad fort in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, India. There is a series of steps leading to the top of the pinnacle, but little is known about the history of the structure. In the Marathi language the word "Durg" means fort. Although it is called as "Kalavantin Durg", there is no fort. Kalavantin is a pinnacle that was used by the ruler to have a watch on the surrounding area. Kalavantin Durg, which (according to legend) was constructed in honour of Queen Kalavantin. Offering gorgeous views and abundant beauty – via rugged terrain with narrow rock-cut steps, steep slopes and no support whatsoever – the trek to and from the fortress is dangerous yet thrilling. Kalavantin Fort is famed as the ‘Climb to Heaven’, owing to its dangerous nature and the bird’s eye view of the immense beauty that await atop.

Covid-19 Safety policy for Irshalgad fort trekking

  • Every member of the group (participants/leaders/ clients & staff) has to wear protective mask/face shield while talking to each other.

  • The bus (if opted as transport) will be completely sanitised before picking up participants.

  • Every participant is instructed to keep safe distance from other participants right from start till the end of the event.

  • Every participant has to carry a sanitiser spray bottle while coming for the event and use it regularly.

  • Do not share food/snacks you bring along. (we will miss this fun- Dabba Party)

  • Carry additional unused mask as backup.

  • It should be ascertained from the participants that they are not residing / have not traveled in a containment zone and have not come in contact with any person who was tested positive in last 14 days.

  • Ascertain whether any participant has any symptoms of Influenza like illness (ILI) like fever, dry cough, weakness, severe body ache etc. at the time of beginning of activity. If it is so then he/she should be asked not to participate activity and be evacuated on medical grounds and should be asked to report to local health authority with his own expenses.

  • Strictly avoid eating gutkha, pan masala, cigarette or sniffing which induces spitting, coughing or sneezing.

  • Avoid touching external surfaces and touching your face when in outdoors.

  • If the location of your adventure activity is crowded then be prepared to leave or wait for the crowd to disperse/for your turn.

  • It is mandatory that a participant informs the organizers if he tests positive for Covid within 14 days of returning from adventure activity. It will help the organizers to inform and alert all other persons in the group, so that they can follow the medical/government norms in this regard. Here it is absolutely essential that the participant observes transparency and informs the organizers/group leaders about his Covid test results.
